01

Collect demand from several sources

Use Search Console, search results, customer questions, sales language, competitor pages and keyword tools. Keep source and market information so the map does not treat every phrase as equally reliable.

02

Read the result landscape

Look at which page types rank, how much result overlap exists and whether the query is local, commercial, informational or mixed. Similar wording does not always mean the same intent.

03

Choose one owner for each intent

Assign the main topic to one canonical URL. Record secondary language, supporting questions and the reason this page is the best owner. If two pages need the same intent, consolidate or define a meaningful difference.

04

Record the next action

Mark each mapped URL as keep, improve, consolidate, create or remove. Add an owner, internal-link sources, evidence requirements and measurement segment so the map becomes a delivery tool.

05

Maintain it through change

Update the map when products, services, navigation or search results change. Use it during briefs, redesigns and migrations to prevent accidental duplication and lost topic ownership.
